Phil saw his shadow so we’re having six more weeks of winter weather. My friend Dennis and I visited gobblers knob to see Phil being brought from his home to see if he cast a shadowThousands of people go to gobblers knob in Punxsutawney Pennsylvania to see this event. Good times!

 

A Salvage Yard is a Guy's Happy Place

 I've always loved "junk yards"!  It's like a treasure hunt - never knowing what you'll see or find.  My friend Dennis and I recently visited one of the biggest in central Pa.  We witnessed a large tow truck pulling a huge tractor  to be scrapped-it was a Mack and didn't seem to be wrecked.  I found a wood grained Chevy Station Wagon just like the one I once had.

 Ice cutting on a farm pond-blocks stored and used for the next year.  The Amish use a sled-chain saw device to cut blocks of ice for refrigeration in the summer.  They store them in thick walled insulated buildings-once filled with sawdust but more modern ones have Styrofoam
